Acoustic guitar bridges are sometimes gettinge loose from the guitar top. This can happen because of bad glue joints, deformations of th guitar top or other loose parts in the guitar. Sometimes a simple reglueing is sufficient, but more often the bridge needs to be seperated from the guitar top and needs adjustment.
It is also possible for the bridge to crack while it is still glued to the guitar. This can happen because of shrinking wood or by pressure from the saddle or bridge pins. In those cases, usually the bridge needs to be replaced by a new one.
This guitar has a bridge in wich the strings are not clamped through the guitar top by bridge pins, but are hooked on the bridge itself. Unfortunately, by string tension, the wood is split in half. To solve this, a new bridge needs to be made. Carefully the old bridge is taken of the guitar. Shape and position of saddle and strings are diplicated on a new custom made bridge. The original bridge was glued and fixed with two woodscrews. The screws were hidden by two pearl dots. The new bridge is glued without the screws, but the dots are reused to keep the original looks.
